Our Services
Location: Your home (North Shore, Boston, Greater Boston)
For parents in the thick of feeding right now: latch pain, supply concerns, slow weight gain, fussy feeds, or just not sure what's normal. I'll come to you so we can work through what's actually happening, hands-on.
Your visit includes:
Full intake of your health, baby's health, pregnancy, and birth
Pre- and post-feed weighted feed (so you know exactly how much baby is taking in)
Observation of a full feeding session
Oral assessment of baby's suck and tongue function
Pump flange fitting (sizes 10–28 on hand)
A written care plan sent to you and your pediatrician within 24 hours
Good fit if: you're postpartum, want hands-on help, or want a weighted feed to know how much baby is eating.
Payment: FSA/HSA cards accepted. Venmo, Zelle, or check due at visit. I'll provide a superbill to send to insurance. Please call your insurance to confirm coverage for in-home IBCLC visits.
Location: Virtual or In Home
For expecting parents who want to feel prepared instead of blindsided. Most feeding challenges are easier to head off than to fix at 3 am with a screaming newborn. Recommended by 36 weeks.
What we'll work through:
Your feeding goals (breastfeeding, pumping, bottles, or a combination…all are welcome)
Medical history and anything that might affect lactation
How milk supply actually gets established in the first 48 hours
Positioning, latch fundamentals, and how to tell if baby is eating enough
Hunger cues, hand expression, and pump basics (if pumping is in your plan)
Video and one-pager resources to refer back to after baby arrives
Good fit if: you're a first-time parent, had feeding challenges last time and want a different start, or aren't sure whether breastfeeding will work for you and want honest information.
Payment: FSA/HSA accepted; superbill provided.
Location: Computer
For parents who want expert support faster, from further away, or for issues that don't need hands-on assessment. We'll work through your specific situation over video and end with a written plan.
Your visit includes:
Full intake of your health, baby's health, and feeding history
Observation of a feeding or pumping session over video
Real-time troubleshooting and strategies
Pump flange fitting guidance
A written care plan sent to you and your pediatrician within 24 hours
Good fit if: you live outside Greater Boston, want help quickly, or have a question that's more about strategy than positioning. Less ideal if: you suspect a tongue tie that needs visual assessment, or you want a weighted feed, those need an in-person visit.
Payment: FSA/HSA accepted; superbill provided.
Location: In-home or virtual
For parents heading back to paid work in the next several weeks who want a pumping plan they're not figuring out the night before. We'll build something that actually fits your schedule and supply.
What we'll work through:
A feeding plan for baby while you're away
Pump settings and flange fitting (sizes 10–28 on hand for in-home visits)
Milk storage, transport, and how much to send each day
Integrating solids if baby is around that age
How to maintain supply once you're back at work
Good fit if: you return in 2–6 weeks and haven't built a plan yet, or you tried last time and it fell apart.
Payment: FSA/HSA accepted; superbill provided.
Lactation Client Reviews

“We loved working with Kathleen. She is very knowledgeable about all things baby-related and definitely goes above and beyond to help babies and families adjust! She was very helpful with our feeding and food allergy problems at the start of our baby's life. She also takes great care of the rest of the family at this important time of transition.” -Rachel, Winchester
-
“In the anxious first weeks as new parents to a tiny baby, Kathleen was indispensable and helped us become a happier and more confident little threesome. She was a kind ear for all our panicked, sleep-deprived questions, and a vital resource, helping us trouble-shoot breast-feeding issues and providing referrals to therapists, as well as being a genuine pleasure to have around. Kathleen is the closest Boston has to a professional mother for new parents!”- Alice, Boston

“Kathleen empowered me to feel more confident about caring for my baby. It is so easy to second-guess yourself or feel as if you're doing everything wrong. Kathleen helped me to trust my instincts, and as a result, I spend less time worrying and more time enjoying being a mother. The most valuable part of having Kathleen's support was her wealth of knowledge, supportive way in which she shared that knowledge with me. I wasn't very confident about breastfeeding and how best to help my baby sleep better, but she was so reassuring as well as informative, and she helped me to feel better about both. Kathleen has the perfect combination of being supportive and kind in conjunction with being extremely practical and knowledgeable, and with such a calming presence. She also has two kids if her own, so her empathy is very real.” - Debbie, Jamaica Plain

“What I most appreciated about working with Kathleen is her approach - she's both thorough and thoughtful, balancing sharing all of the information, data and analysis we asked for, alongside empathy, emotional support and consciousness of who we are and what we need. I didn't realize how much I needed that kind of support until we started doing our sessions with Kathleen. I feel like she provided incredible balance for us, and opened up the way my husband and I were thinking about the rest of our pregnancy, our birth and the 4th trimester. I valued the information and guidance she offered on breastfeeding, which I believe contributed to me and my son seeing better feeding results in the first hours, days and weeks after birth, and less anxiety for me in questioning what was going on. “ -Maggie, virtual support, CT
